my weekend

Reading in the local paper, during the week, a story caught my eye, and it was about a laughter group that meets sunday mornings in a local park. I like to live outside the square occasionally, I’m up for it. So along I went……..what a hoot !!

We were advised to let our inhibitions go, and were told that our bodies released chemicals into our systems when we laughed,  and that it didn’t know the difference between a fake laugh and a real laugh. I cant begin to explain the morning, I know we all laughed harder when people walking past, walked just that bit quicker, past us, with worried looks on their faces. It was a fun 3/4 of an hour, and I did feel energised on leaving the group. It finished up with a quiet meditation where we imagined weaving ribbons of love and peace around the world. A nice start to a sunday, I think.  And on reflection, Lyn the lady that took the class, does this voluntarily. The morning was free, and she does it, I’m assuming because she is passionate about the laughter club.  A selfless person.

I’m sure my friends will think me nuts, when I tell them I went and stood in a breezy ol park on a sunday morning with 12 strangers and laughed along with acting out strange antics for a period of time.  Laughed all the harder when one lady got the snorts…….mmmmmm, lifes not dull you know.

    Love the laughter club idea!
I went to Census collectors’ training one rainy morning last year and there was a laughter group in the room across from us. It was pretty clear who was having the most fun and who had the most endorphins flowing! Laughter really is the best medicine :)

What a great idea,:) should be compulsory for everyone, funded by the government. It would be taxpayers money well spent. hahaha.

Hehehe… sounds cool! Perhaps the government should combine laughter groups with public transport, so people can laugh their way to work every morning and won’t mind if the trains are late or too crowded. :D
