Published 1 year, 1 month ago in Uncategorized.Well, here it is, back again. I cant see any major differences, but I suppose the proof is in the pudding heh? I did notice the posts have been shuffled- maybe admin was just playing fish?
O.k, who goes first, c’mon, who will venture out with the question- who gives a rats about Ben cousins ???
Because frankly, I am so over people in the limelight being glossed over with something like drugs as the issue. It sends a message to the young and impressionable that we condone drugs , that in some way, its glamorous and thats what the rich and famous do. Instead they should be shamed.

Nah, I do feel sorry for the poor guy. It has obviously - really obviously - been very difficult for him to handle his talent, fame and recent difficulties. Not only that but he has to handle it all in the very public eye. I can’t see that he is in any way a positive role model or that any young person would be emulating him at this stage.

OMG…………finnding your post winnie was like finding the provervial neddle in the haystack. I can’t believe how totally F**KED this site has become, so sad that a company/individuals that provides a service thinks that mediocrity will do, not that this site even makes it to mediocore.
As for Ben Cousins well I too are so over the media circus that surrounds these people. He should be dealt with internally by his club and by the law if he has committed a crime.
I think the ALF has some responsibility in creating these problems by focusing to much on creating a celebrity circus not on the game itself and on the players as what they should be players.
There should be a set of guidelines of expected behaviour of players/ officials/board members etc whilst they are going about their role as employees and a set of consequences if these are broken. There should be no deviations/variations to these and any abberations should be dealt with swiftly by the ALF & club/s involved swiftly and without media involvement. Any occurance outside of these, (unless they have an effect on the role of an individual as an employee) should be treated as any average individual and dealt with accordingly, with no bearing on their employment/role.

Hey guys - these posts have only just appeared for me -11:30ish on the 22nd of October yet they are complete with replies - how does that work?? There has been no action on the Nook on my screen since about two days before the spring clean? I figured it had finally died once and for all.

I’m over the whole Ben Cousins thing. I think if you pay young men huge amounts of money and give them very little to do for certain times of the year, then its likely that they will ‘go looking for fun’.
I’d like to see AFL and other elite sportspeople do more charity work in their off-season. It would give them a chance to remember just how lucky they are, and how the other half still lives. I think its something that should be mandatory, as a part of having such a high-paying and adulatory career.
I have a great deal of respect for those priveleged athletes who do this: eg Pat Rafter, Ian Thorpe.
